Sydney photos - Woolloomooloo finger wharf
According to Wikipedia: "The Finger Wharf or Woolloomooloo Wharf is a wharf in Woolloomooloo Bay, Sydney, Australia. The structure is the largest timbered-piled building in the world and was completed in 1915. During its working life for around 70 years it mainly handled the export of wool, but also acted as a staging point for troop deployment to the World Wars as well as a disembarking point for new migrants."
It's now been converted into apartments, restaurants and a hotel, but still retains enough remnants of its industrial past.
Sydney photos day 2 - an architectural walk around Kings Cross and Elizabeth Bay
A very diverse architectural mix including some Art Deco gems and, of course, Harry's Cafe de Wheels...
Starting with a quick breakfast picnic in Hyde Park next to the Anzac memorial, I moved on to start a historical walking tour titled 'Passion', following a leaflet I'd picked up from the Sydney tourist information centre.
Art Deco features heavily on Orwell Street, and includes the Metro building, previously known as the Minerva theatre. Other photos include Tusculum, Kingsclere, Boomerang (tradesman's entrance), and The Yellow House.
